Destiny Share New Exotic Necrochasm Isn’t Worth The Effort

The video review from Planet Destiny power leveling breaks down all of the pros and cons of the Necrochasm. On the positive side, it has the highest attack rating of the game with 339. In spite of its high rate-of-fire, it’s still accurate at medium range thanks in part of the Rangefinder upgrade. Reloads are quick and can be shortened every further with melee attacks thanks to the Cascade perk and the Flared Magwell upgrade. On top of all that, it’s the only assault rifle with arc damage and comes with many perks unlocked right at the outset.

destiny

However, the weapon has some serious downsides as well. Its low magazine size and low impact (damage per round) mean that you’ll need over a magazine to kill a tier 2 enemy. In PvP, you can only get two kills with a magazine if you’re extremely accurate.

The Necrochasm’s collection of perks kind of suck, too. One of its major selling points is supposed to be Cursebringer, which causes Cursed Thralls to blow up when you kill them with a precision shot. However, it’s hard to get precision kills due to the rate of fire. Even if you do, the explosion only happens around 75% of the time, seems to be delayed, and has a small damage radius.

The time investment required to get the gun is absurd, too. First, you need to get a Husk of the Pit auto rifle off a Blade of Crota on Earth or the Moon and then fully upgrade it. Then you have to change the weapon into the Legendary Eidolon Ally by purchasing an Embalming Orb from Eris Morn after you hit Reputation 3 with her. After that, you have to fully deck out your Eidolon Ally before you can even consider getting Necrochasm.

You’re still not done, though. You then have to get an item called Crux of Crota by finishing the Crota’s End raid on hard mode. Planet Destiny says you can only get this item by skipping hard mode and beating normal first. Furthermore, you need to own the Glowhoo Shader, another drop from Crota’s End hard mode. The Crux of Crota isn’t a guaranteed drop so you may need to beat Crota’s End hard mode multiple times to get it. That’s a hell of a grind to get an auto rifle that’s only decent at best.

“The perks on the Necrochasm just don’t feel exotic; it’s hardly better than an Eidolon Ally. Cascade will help in a few instances, Cursebringer will only help in pve, and the rest just don’t make the weapon powerful enough to warrant practical use,” the review concludes.

Odds are you won’t be using it all that long, either. Second expansion pack The House of Wolves is supposedly coming in March and will bring even more powerful guns. Necrochasm, like Vex Mythoclast, likely won’t get attack damage buffs to be competitive with these new additions. It’ll be a relic taking up space in your Vault. Granted, we might have plenty more Vault space soon but I think players expect more than a souvenir for all the hard work they’ve put into The Dark Below’s content.

Game-Breaking Heavy Ammo Bug Due For A Fix In February

Destiny‘s most frustrating bug is finally going to be fixed in February 2015. Going all the way back to the game’s launch, player have encountered an ongoing bug where reserve ammo mysteriously disappears. It happens after cutscenes, when you head to orbit, and every time you die. Bungie’s acknowledged the existence of the bug in the past, but the studio’s latest weekly update promises a fix in the near future.

destiny

While the bug affects all three types of ammo in the game, it’s most impactful with heavy weapons. Their purple ammo drops are a rare sight and, more than that, there’s a high cost attached to purchasing heavy ammo packs. Even when you use one of your precious packs — they’re frequently useful during Destiny power leveling dangerous raids — you always risk losing the ammo you get before you’ve even had a chance to fire off a shot.

While the problem seems simple, it’s actually very complicated, according to Bungie. Sandbox engineer Jon Cable is part of a team tasked with finding and squashing these bugs, and he offers some explanation of this issue’s complexity in Bungie’ post.

Skip ►muted
Cable starts out by explaining how the ammo disappears in the first place. The game’s inventory system creates a character’s weapons whenever they spawn or respawn, including the amount of ammo they had prior to death. The issue comes up when a piece of armor has a perk that boosts the total capacity of one ammo type or another.

It comes down to math. When the game calculates reserve ammo on a respawn, it does so before it factors in ammo boosts from armor perks. Destiny‘s inventory system uses fractions to calculate ammo totals, so when the pre-armor perk fraction is applied alongside the post-perk fraction, you end up with less ammo.

That explains why the bug happens — and it’s something both Bungie and players alike have known for some time — but Cable goes on to explain why it’s been so tricky to address. “This bug was mainly risky because it was at the intersection of a lot of different systems – player profiles, investment, sandbox, perks, and weapon management,” he said.

“There are a lot of weapon and armor perks in the game. Changing the order of how they are applied has a huge impact. It would have required a large restructuring of the way the game works to even accomplish this, because the armor perks can’t take effect until the weapon is created anyway. The application of armor perks would have to be inserted in between weapon creation and the rest of the weapon setup code.”

The chat with Cable concludes on a positive note. He’s formulated a fix, and one that doesn’t appear to break the game in other ways (which was a problem on the first few attempts). Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the patch to be written and deployed. According to Bungie, that will happen “before the end of February.”

Bungie Has Acknowledged This Error Both On Twitter And On Its Website From Destiny

Destiny players on PlayStation and Xbox consoles began experiencing problems connecting to the game’s servers on Wednesday. Interestingly, the one common feature between all reports from players in the United States is that they are Comcast internet users.

destiny

Reports began coming in on Reddit and Twitter of players receiving the “Cattle” and “Banjo” errors when trying to connect to Destiny. Destiny power leveling will give you help.

Both the “Cattle” and “Bando” error descriptions state “If you are seeing this message, you are having trouble connecting to or maintaining a connection to Destiny matchmaking servers.”

destiny

There’s no immediate fix to either of these connection problems due to the fact that it is a network error and not something wrong with your router or modem.

“We are actively investigating issues impacting players’ ability to sign in to Destiny on all platforms. Until resolved, players may experience disconnects or be unable to sign in,” the message reads.

The one common factor in players not being able to connect is a Comcast internet subscription. The Destiny subreddit is full of one user after another stating their location and internet provider that are unable to connect. They are all Comcast subscribers in the United States.

Destiny Player A Sophisticated Device Designed For Being Lazy

He taped two servomechanisms to his Xbox One controller to repeatedly kill enemies using his Titan’s melee attack. The mechanism simply presses the melee button repeatedly, which kills enemies coming toward him on the moon-based Ocean of Storms map.

The contraption was quite effective, killing 3,600 enemies, which was good enough to boost his level 16.5 character to level 20 overnight. “With the armor I had waiting for him he is now a 26,” he added.

yavin427 came up with the idea after growing tired of grinding in Destiny.

“I am a (semi?) serious player with 300+ hours and a 32, Destiny power leveling lets you upgrade easier, but when I went to level up my Titan it felt so joyless,” he said. “So this popped into my head as a fun little challenge. I did it more for the hell of it.”

He also admits that he could have leveled his Titan much faster had he done it himself. He also freely admits that this contraption isn’t anything to really be proud of.

“To those saying it’s pathetic, I don’t disagree with you,” he said. “But it’s much less an exploit (least effective way to level up ever) than a bit of fun, just to see if it could be done, and no one else was negatively affected by it. Some people did get some laughs out of it though.”

Destiny: This Week’s Twilight And Heroic Strike Is Called Pit

The weekly refresh for Bungie’s Destiny power leveling has come and gone, leaving us with a new Weekly Heroic Strike and a Nightfall Strike to attempt. Both take place in the Summoning Pits, forcing you to battle multiple Hive enemies before taking down the beast Phogoth.

Destiny

The Weekly Heroic’s modifiers include Heroic (more enemies which are tougher and more aggressive) and Arc Burn (Arc Damage from any source is greatly increased). As for the Nightfall Strike, the five modifiers this week include Nightfall (all players dying results in returning to orbit), Epic (more enemies that are more aggressive and have heavy shields), Lightswitch (melee damage from enemies is greatly increased), Angry (enemies won’t flinch) and Arc Burn.

The best weapons to equip for both Strikes are Praedyth’s Timepiece, Fatebringer, Thunderlord, Patience and Time, Murmur, Plan C and Light of the Abyss. You can check out this walkthrough by Todd Awesome on YouTube for more tips and tricks on how to effectively finish the Strikes.

Most Sought After Rewards Are Up For Grabs Next Week

Destiny‘s raids are long, sprawling quests that are meant to be tackled by a full fireteam of six players, all of whom have managed to reach the game’s highest experience levels. There’s no matchmaking for the mode either, which means that raid groups need to be assembled manually, among friends (or using online resources). Bungie set things up this way because the raids require lots of teamwork, communication, and group puzzle-solving.

The hard difficulty for the Crota’s End raid in Destiny is set to launch next week, on Wednesday, January 21, according to Bungie. The normal difficulty version of the raid was released in December 2014 as part of the game’s first downloadable content pack, The Dark Below, but hard mode gives high-level players an opportunity to earn some of the game’s most powerful gear at this point in its life.

In return for tackling and defeating these Herculean challenges, players have the opportunity to earn the game’s most potent gear. Armor earned in Crota’s End is one of only two ways in Destiny power leveling to reach the current level cap of 32 (the other requires a talent for competitive multiplayer during limited-time “Iron Banner” events). In the case of Crota’s End, hard mode is the only place that players have a chance to earn the raid’s primary weapons. Note that in order to play, you need to own The Dark Below DLC.

‘Destiny’ Gets Hot Fix On Crota’s End Raid And All Of The Weapons Rewards And Activities That Come With It

Bungie has released a new hot fix to further deal with the issues that have appeared in “Destiny” following the release of “The Dark Below” expansion. For the latest hot fix, the main focus was on Crota’s End Raid and all of the weapons, rewards and activities that come with it.

Gamers play a game by Bungie Inc. at the 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo, known as E3, in Los Angeles, California, June 10, 2014.

Virtual Reality Progresses At CES 2015 As New Contenders Razer, Avegant Glyph And 3D Head Join In
While a previous report has already detailed what’s coming for Crota’s End Raid, there are a few more details given for the Iron Banner, some activity rewards, weapon upgrades and map additions. Check out the list below for the newest updates:

- The Iron Banner is already live now, and among the things to expect are the following Legendary Gear: Level 32 Hand Cannon, Level 32 Rocket Launcher, Level 32 Gauntlets and Level 31 Chest. There are also playlist weapon drops which include the Level 32 Sniper Rifle and Auto Rifle. Destiny power leveling makes you upgrade easier.

- The Control, Clash and Iron Banner playlist will be seeing the following new maps: The Anomaly, Asylum and The Burning Shrine.

- For the weapons, Hive Breaker upgrade has been disabled on the Sniper Rifle Black Hammer until it becomes fixed.

- Finally, for the activity rewards, there are two things to note. The first is that an issues has been fixed where Ascendant Materials are no longer a reward for Daily gold-tier public events. The second is that Weekly Nightfall Strikes can now bring in nine or more Strange Coins as reward.

Apart from dealing with some of the issues brought on by the latest DLC, it appears that Bungie has also been hard at work with the other known expansion, House of Wolves. And if a new leak is to be believed, then it will be bringing quite a number of new additions and content.

IGN has spotted the leak provided by another “Destiny” Redditor fan. The leak reportedly comes from 4chan, the fan-based forum board, wherein the data seems to have been mined from the existing content. An image of the mined data can be found in the link above, and it details some of the things that “Destiny” fans can expect.

If the leak is to be believed, then “Destiny” will get three more Story Missions, two Strikes, a new Raid called The Arena and four new Crucible maps. There are even titles given for the maps, namely “Thieves’ Den” on Venus, “Black Shield” on Phobos, “Widow’s Court” and “The Timekeeper” on Mars.

As usual, there seems to be new pieces of armour as well following the trend seen in The Dark Below. At the same time, 37 ships, nine legendary weapons and two more exotic weapons have all been scavenged in the data mining. The last two have been identified as a scout rifle and a shotgun.

Destiny

According to the source, both of the weapons appear to have viable strength. The scout rifle 347 Vesta Dynasty allows for two aptly named modifiers, Goliath (to increase player’s armour stat even with non-precision kills) and David (to increase agility with precision kills). The shotgun Lord of Wolves has the Devil’s Touch modifier where your targets will catch fire after you hit it rapidly.

For now, Bungie has not yet commented on the leak, and it appears that it will be keeping its peace until the time comes for the official announcement. Fans can continue to speculate, but bear in mind that most of the mined data should be treated with a grain of salt until the developer confirms the details.

Destiny: Hard Mode for Crota’s End Is Going Through The Final Few Stages Of Deployment

Bungie is preparing a new Destiny update that will remove many of the tricks and exploits found in its expansion, The Dark Below.

Specifically, players have discovered numerous ways to circumvent whole sections of the map on the Crota’s End raid mission. The patch, which is scheduled to deploy on January 13, is expected to plug these known exploits.

Meanwhile, Bungie said that a Hard Mode for Crota’s End is in the final stages of development, and will come packaged in a subsequent update.

“We’re not going to spoil any hard mode surprises here,” the studio wrote on an official blog post.

“You’ll need to learn a new trick or two, but given your past performances, we’re pretty sure plenty of you will find a way to come out on top and earn some shiny new trophies to take with you on your next adventure.”

The Patch also fixes an error in the Vault of Glass raid, where players at level 32 would find they were no longer awarded Exotic items.

Bungie also said that its Iron Banner multiplayer event will return on January 13 and run for a whole week.

Patch notes, written by Bungie, are copied below.

Crota’s End – Updates

The existing Pit treasure chest reward moved to killing Ir Yut, the Deathsinger. She has a chance to drop Exotic weapons and armor, class pieces, and Radiant materials.
The Pit treasure chest will now contain Radiant Materials.
Pit Encounter

Removed the physics impulse caused by exploding lanterns.
Bridge Encounter

Players will now be required to cross the bridge in order to complete the bridge encounter.
Players will now be required to wait for the bridge to be completed prior to crossing with the sword.

Deathsinger Encounter

Fixed a rare case where the Shriekers would not spawn, preventing players from reaching the Deathsinger.
Crota Encounter

Two Swordbearers will no longer spawn at the same time at the outset of the encounter.
Crota will now recover from his kneeling state after a player quits.
Fixed a bug that allowed players to remove the “Presence of Crota” using a Radiance Warlock’s Fireborn ability.
Fixed a bug that made the Oversoul appear destroyed to some players in a Fireteam when it was actually still active.

Vault of Glass – Updates

Exotic weapon drops in the Vault of Glass are now Level 32. Destiny power leveling makes you easier to upgrade.
