The Wizard Class Revealed

Minutes before the open ceremonies are scheduled to begin, an official press release which is part of the press kit for BlizzCon 2008 reveals that the third playable class in Diablo III is the Wizard. The press release focuses on the fact that Diablo III is going to be playable for the first time ever, and GameSpy editors are waiting for the machines to come online in the press room before spending a large chunk of time with the BlizzCon demo build of the game. Here’s the official word on the Wizard:
During the show, Blizzard Entertainment also unveiled the game’s third playable class: the wizard. A wielder of the elements and a master manipulator of time, the wizard can hurl environment-shattering lightning bolts, channel explosive arcane energies, and create pockets of space outside the normal temporal flow. BlizzCon attendees were able to adventure as either the wizard or the previously unveiled barbarian or witch doctor, battling alone or with up to three other players through the catacombs beneath Tristram Cathedral to a final showdown with the Skeleton King.

Console Diablo 3 playable offline, real money auction house removed, not exactly a Sony exclusive

I had the chance to play the PlayStation 3 version of Diablo 3, and the act of controlling your character directly changes the game in many different ways. We’ll have a longer story about the game coming up later, but for now I wanted to bring up some interesting bits about the console version of the game, including the following: You’ll be able to play offline, with up to four players on the same console.

“It’s so much fun,” Joshua Mosqueira, the game’s lead designer, said when I asked how the couch co-op played. “On a big couch, with four of your friends, drinking beers, it’s almost like a party atmosphere. There’s this really awesome social moment with a legendary drop, and everyone is cheering. It feels very collaborative.”

There was some question about the offline play of the game, something that’s impossible in the PC version of Diablo 3. It was confirmed to me that the game will be playable offline on the PlayStation 3.

Which leads to some other changes, namely the removal of the real money auction house. “The ecosystems on the PC and console are very different,” Mosqueira explained. “There were some technical reasons we had to go with offline, but again once you have an offline experience, even if we wanted to bring in the auction house, it just becomes problematic. How do you validate? How do you make sure there is no duping or any of that stuff?”

Even though some things were lost, and there will be many Diablo players who consider those losses a good thing, the gains were worth it. “But we really felt that playing offline, and being able to move your console from the living room to your bedroom, which a lot of players do to play, is really important,” Mosqueira said.

There were a surprising number of changes to the game, and almost all of them seemed to have improved things, in my humble opinion. I asked about the PlayStation 4 version, and was told that they are only talking about the PlayStation 3 version at the moment. I also asked about their exclusivity with Sony. “We don’t have any announcements to make at this time,” I was told, “But we’re not necessarily a Sony exclusive.”

Cue the dramatic music. We’ll have a more in-depth look at the game coming early next week, but so far all the changes seem to be for the better.

Auction House – Money making by PacHo

Hi guys!
First of all I will show you how the heck I did some gold in the AH, and my big deal where I bougth a 200K mojo and sold it for 8M .

You can find a really good bids, you just have to “snipe” them and bid on them. What I usually do is search items for my WD because I know more about this class than any other. Once you have in mind what item you are going to look for set the stats wich you would like to see on the item, check the prizes and go for them. Once you have seen the items and what price they are arround the “buyout” go for the time left and ending soon bids.
Let me explain myself because my english is bad. If boots like Zunimassa’s Trail sell for a minimum buyout 2M, if you can buy Zunimassa’s Trail for 800K this is a great deal, because you can sell them for atleast 1M more.
This items sell because there is people who play some hours and miss bids and they just want to have this kinda boots and they don’t look for bids they look for fast buyout and considering some stats. So if you bougth zuni trail for 800K and the lowest buyout with that stats is arround 4M you can easy say that you made money from buying something.
Here is an example :

boots1.jpg

boots2.jpg
I bougth boots for 2M and they cost 4,4M, so if i sell them I have insta profit! I spend 2M and get 4M I double my money!

A lot of people don’t know what buyout price to set, or they set a high price, they don’t sell it and then they are like “I will put it for auction to see what is his real price” . That’s wrong, they just overprice it before and now they are lowerprice it. And your mission is get this items and resell them for the rigth price. I recomend you to start with items from your class wich you really know their value and what your class needs, like the mojo I sold, I know that the importance of a mojo is the Avarage Damage, so I sniped this one for 200K and sold it for really good price.

The time of bidding.
I recomend you to bid one time, the first one to get the items in your watch list. When the item is about to end soon you can find it quickly and bet on it . Or if the item is about to finish soon just wait for the <1 minute and then bid, if they outbid you wait 5sec and bid. This will make you win bids easy. Don’t’ overprice an item, before making big bids make sure to look the same stats for buyout, if it’s good then you can risk more money than if the winning is only 1M because you can lose a lot. If for example you bid on an item 11M and you can only sell for 15M .. I don’t recomend you because blizzard takes 15% so your profit is not 14M, your profit will be 1,75M (15M – 15M*15/100).

Diablo 3 Noobie Guides

This page here will cover all of the noobie guides for Diablo 3. Since we’re all still very new to the game pretty much everyone will find this page to be beneficial to read. You’ll find the most basic of basic guides on this page; guides that go over the different aspects of the game and put them into words everyone will understand. If you have any questions about how something works in Diablo 3, this page should without a doubt give you a guide to clear those questions up for you.
Diablo 3 was released on May 15th of 2012 after almost a decade of not seeing a new Diablo game it was welcomed with open arms. There are 5 classes available for play in Diablo 3; a Barbarian which is a Warrior type class, much like the Barbarian in Diablo 2. A Monk, which is a Healing type class with mantras and powerful holy attacks at their disposal, similar to a Paladin in Diablo 2. A Demon Hunter, which is a hunter type, relying heavily on ranged weapons and traps to defeat their foes. Demon Hunters are much like an Amazon mixed with an Assassin from Diablo 2.
Then there are Witch Doctor’s which conjure up powerful undead foes to fight with them and use spells and other magical abilities to fight. Witch Doctors are much like Necromancers from Diablo 2. The final class available for play is a Wizard which is a powerful spellcaster, much like the Sorceress in Diablo 2. If you are a huge fan of Diablo 2 and are picking up Diablo 3 there is your class comparison so you can figure out what you want to play!
Below is a list of some noobie guides that will help get you started with Diablo 3. The information here is all extremely basic and is made specifically for new players, veterans probably won’t find this information that useful.

It doesn’t seem like much but those guides will get you started with Diablo 3 and ready to run around fight the minions of hell and own Diablo in the face! Remember Diablo 3 is a very straight forward game and there isn’t that much you need actual large guides on in the first place. By the time you finish Act 1 you will have a great understanding of the game and a little bit of understanding of the Follower system they’re using as you will gain the Templar follower 3/4 of the way through Act 1.
By the end of Act 1 the only thing that doesn’t become blatantly clear is the Runestone system which is ok since it is a system there for more experienced and higher level players anyway. It will all come to you as you level up, trust me! That brings me to one of the final things I want to say here as I hope many people read this page before they start playing Diablo 3… NEVER EVER ever ever buy a Diablo 3 Leveling Guide. I can’t tell you how many of them I have already seen that are completely fake and scams. Also you don’t need a leveling guide for Diablo 3, it would be like buying a leveling guide for Skyrim if you bought one for Diablo 3.
Anyway, that’s all I can think of that needs to be said for this page. To close I am going to give you an F.A.Q for Diablo 3 which will answer any of those beginner questions you have for the game, hopefully clearing the air for of the more basic questions that you have. Remember; good luck, have fun and let’s own Diablo together one day!

World of Warcraft API

The World of Warcraft API, or WoW API, is a set of Lua functions and facilities provided by the Blizzard WoW Client, to interact with the World of Warcraft user interface. The list of functions below is incomplete and kept up to date through user contributions. You may also be interested in an automatically-generated exhaustive list of all API functions present in the latest live client.
For beginners, AddOn programming tutorial contains a number of very informative sources to help get you started.

If you’re contributing documentation, please read How to edit API pages. Update this page (and the linked pages) as needed, discuss any large-scale changes on the discussion page, and do not create empty stub pages.

If you need help see API notation and conventions. You can also examine the existing UI code to find examples of how the various functions are used by the default UI. Function names could be prefixed with the following tags:

PROTECTED – This function can only be called from secure code. See the Protected Functions category.
NOCOMBAT – This function can only be called from secure code while out of combat.
HW – This function may only be called in response to a hardware event (from OnClick handlers).
UI – This function is implemented in Lua (in FrameXML) but was considered important enough to appear here.
REMOVED – This function has been removed from the World of Warcraft API (and should also be removed from this list).
For historical purposes, see the Removed Functions category.

Ragefire Chasm

Ragefire Chasm was first discovered by Chief Goblin Engineer Gazlowe, during Rexxar’s visit to Orgrimmar. Beneath the city of Orgrimmar lies this fiery chasm. Recently, a clan of troggs known as Ragefire Troggs have begun to appear in the chasm, from deep below the lava-filled tunnels. Magatha the Seer, of the tauren people, attempted to make peace with these creatures, but was met only with hostility. It was clear that these troggs were not interested in diplomacy, and could potentially overwhelm the entire Horde if left unchecked.
A sect of the mysterious Shadow Council has also taken refuge in this chasm. This sect is known as the Searing Blade, and is led by Taragaman the Hungerer, a felguard; Jergosh the Invoker, a powerful warlock; and Bazzalan, a satyr. From their dark hiding place, they plot to overthrow and destroy all that the Horde has built for themselves in these lands.

From old World Dungeons site:

Ragefire Chasm consists of a network of volcanic caverns that lie below the orcs’ new capital city of Orgrimmar. Recently, rumors have spread that a cult loyal to the demonic Shadow Council has taken up residence within the Chasm’s fiery depths. This cult, known as the Burning Blade, threatens the very sovereignty of Durotar. Many believe that the orc Warchief, Thrall, is aware of the Blade’s existence and has chosen not to destroy it in the hopes that its members might lead him straight to the Shadow Council. Either way, the dark powers emanating from Ragefire Chasm could undo all that the orcs have fought to attain.

Tradeskills

With the goal of obtaining levels as quickly as possible it is recommended that if you decide to pursue tradeskills you choose those which will support the process.
Herbalism can be used to support Alchemy or add to your gold through sales on the Auction House or to vendors. Lifeblood will prevent you from dying so easily.
Mining can be used to augment your income by selling the materials on the Auction House or to vendors. Toughness increases your health.
Alchemy when combined with Herbalism provides many methods of negating damage done by mobs, especially casters like Shamans who can be more easily handled if you have Nature Resistance potions available.
Skinning is a good money maker as throughout your travels you will fight many beasts. It also won’t take much time, only 1-5 seconds after every beast. Miners and herbalists have to travel all the way to the nodes.
Tailoring might be a good choice if you are a caster or you just want access to cheap bags. Otherwise the cloth is better used for First Aid.
Blacksmithing is not recommended during the course of these guides as long term development is involved and costly.
Leatherworking is not recommended during the course of these guides as long term development is involved and costly.
Engineering is not recommended during the course of these guides as long term development is involved and costly.
EXCEPTION: If you have Mining and only use Engineering to craft ammunition (for a gun-using hunter) or explosives (dynamite and bombs), then this may be a useful tradeskill. However, it should only be used to assist the leveling process and should not be focused upon as a skill. In other words, only use it for supplying essentials for your leveling (mainly gun ammunition) and not for any other purpose.
Enchanting is not recommended during the course of these guides as long term development is involved and costly.
Jewelcrafting is not recommended during the course of these guides as long term development is involved and costly.
EXCEPTION: If you have Mining and only use Jewelcrafting to craft stone statues (for additional in-combat healing), then this may be a useful tradeskill. However, like Engineering above, it should not be a leveling focus and should only be used to assist with power leveling. Doing any more than this will become costly and should not be undertaken during the power-leveling process.
First Aid should be trained no matter what class you are playing. It won’t yield much money, but it is inexpensive to train and a great help to reduce downtime.
Cooking benefits all classes, especially melee and hunters (it is a free source of food). Until higher levels, the benefits it provides are almost exclusively stamina buffs. While more stamina is always nice, cooking is not essential to leveling. Considering the time investment required, if you pick up skinning then cooking would absolutely be a wise skill to level prior to hitting your level cap, as beasts often drop meat useful for skilling up.
Fishing requires much time and does not yield much profit until its later levels. Unless you enjoy it for its own sake, avoid seriously delving into fishing until your level limit. It is not a bad idea to do a little when starting out a new character on a new server, though – the gray items you fish up sell for good money to a starter, which can help you out with your other tradeskills.
